It can only happen to me...

...that the flowers i received in the last 2 weeks from Andy for 2 separate occasions turned out to be quite a disaster. He ordered flowers from a shop in UK which said they do international orders too, so andy being andy, ordered 2 from them without choosing the bouquet but gave them free rein (as long as within his budget).

One came on Valentine's Day and was a sweet bunch of pink geberas with some greens but the flowers were not fresh and some had withering petals and the centre stalk had many petals "chewed" off. I was most upset at the thought that my darling had paid good money, in pounds no less, for this small bunch of lousy flowers. So i told him what happened and we decided we would complain to them. Not without him first disclosing that i had better complain soon, cos he had already ordered a 2nd one with them for one week later! For the readers benefit, it was for our anniversary. Meant to be a secret but after i told him abt the flowers, he wanted to make sure that the 2nd bunch would be perfect, so there goes the 2nd "surprise".

So I called the florist on 15 Feb to complain and the lady enquired if the petals were eaten by worms "at my home after delivery", of cos not, i received them in that state and i am most disappointed i said, esp after all the effort of my friend who ordered them from overseas. She then tried to "explain" that the flowers were supplied from o/seas and were most fresh and lovely before delivery. i told her i am familiar with flowers and they sure dun look fresh. anyway, she even asked if i wanted a replacement bunch and what type of flowers i liked. i said not necessary, the mood is already killed, but plse to make sure my next bunch will not be like that.

ONE WEEK LATER...

I came home on 21 Feb to a bunch of lovely roses on my bed EXCEPT they were yellow! I am not superstitious but as a professional florist, i would expect them to practice a little sensitivity to the colours especially when yellow roses means = leaving someone ie. goodbye! even that i knew and what more for an anniversary occasion, might as well have sent me a wreath offering their condolences. Wah! I tell you, this could only happen to me, and i feel so sorry for andy cos i told him all about it and he felt really bad that his surprises came in all the wrong forms.

So i shall hereby name and shame the florist on my blog cos i can and so i will - Princess Florist at Orchard Plaza. Even the accompanying message cards had a spellling error ("webstie add") which i believe they just keep reprinting all the time cos it was on both of mine. On a lighter note, I guess I will remember this Valentine's Day and anniversary for a long, long time...
