I lied to my new neighbour...

my lady neighbour, Joy, is v into her garden and she is like quite "into" ours too, cos she kept saying to us that it needs a lot of trimming and cutting down some trees etc. and she always pops her head over the fence when i'm in the garden and yesterday was like military training for me from like 1130am to 5pm, she came over w all her tools and saw and we were like cutting out entire tree branches and bushes and made me get on my knees and saw stuff, i was so tired but was to polite and didn't dare to say! and the joke, i offered her water a few times when i went to get some, but she declined, so one time, i thot i'll be nice and bring her some water while i was finishing my apple juice. big mistake, she saw my drink and asked what i was having, and then i realised, i gave her plain water and had juice myself! so my mind went like tick tock tick tock and my life flashed by me, wanted to say honey but did not look it, so i blurted, Oriental Chrysantamum Tea! hahaha! she made a face like she did not like. Phew, imagine if she said she wanted to try! damn funny, so there, i lied.

anyhow, the rest of the house is not very exciting. since my arrival, we only did the most major work to our own bedroom, stripped and put up new wallpaper for the first time for both of us! and also put in new carpet in "laser sand" colour and some bold red curtains. andy also DIY-ed some shelves in the odd alcove at the back of our bed, our ikea bed frame which was a very good price EXCEPT that size is not for regular mattresses! the width of their bed is for a 150 or 160cm king size bed, a reg king which we hv got is 150cm, so guess what. after we spent all the time fixing up the bed, and putting on the mattress, there is a wide gap on both sides of the bed where the current mattress does not meet the frame. sigh... give it a few more months, then we will go to get a ikea "king size" mattress. all very stupid, as they had already stopped doing that for our stores in Singapore, as in stopped producing ikea sizes only, that is being silly, if you ask me. and the duvet set i bought promised 4 pillow cases on the package, came home only to find 2 inside, but its such a drive away, we gave up trying to complain.
