Days of leisure again....

went for a pampering session on Monday afternoon at the Passage cosmopolitan spa at Cecil street and i tell you, it was damn shiok after 2 years of not having a facial and massage. the entire package lasted 3 hrs and it started w a scrub, then a massage, then a facial. by the time the facial was almost up, i was already dreaming in the dark and cold room.

as usual, the consultant will explain yr body condition afterwards and try to sell you packages, i would not have minded the massages pkg if it hadn't cost $1200 for 10 sessions. considering now that i have to spend money on a new house, jobless and have to take my equally broke boyfriend sight-seeing in Singapore next month, how can i indulge in such luxury, no doubt that time will ravage my beautiful skin if i do not take care. thus the consultant moved on to attack my very neglected face, saying that when i stepped in, it was horrible and dry and how radiant and smooth i looked after the session. facials cost $980 for 10 sessions, and i was determined not to be persuaded but when i looked in the mirror secretly when she went out, indeed my pot-hole face did look a lot better. so thus the bargaining started.... from 10 to 5 and finally to 3 sessions. but not before i also bargained down the price of each session, to an auspicious $88 each instead of $120 (by refusing the add. eye treatment).

the beauty of it all (no pun intended) is that i managed to publicise my flower biz when i was there and the lady said that that are always ordering flowers for the spa and their customers anyway, so she wouldn't mind giving me the business. Wah, can you imagine my happiness, maciam like i just secured a impt contract for my Petal Pot biz. of cos i said that i am in the midst of printing my name card (which is true, ready for collection today), and will give them my card and sample of floral arrangments.

That said, i would like to announce that my Petal Pot flower business is indeed back in town, i am really serious abt taking this hobby further. who knows one day it might become talk of the town, like some article in The Straits Times about how some silly gal with a dream managed to make it big despite all odds...... ay, one can dream right? was just telling my younger sis who has no choice but to always listen to my grumbles, that if one does not do anything to pursue their dream, then it will always only be a dream. I really don't wanna make another career mistake by taking on a regular job just cos i am desperate for a regular income?! or some form of stability that my family expects from me. Mom said i must not be choosy in this economy and just "take whatever comes first", to which i replied "No. i dun wanna do that." what is the point, i will just be unhappy really quickly, either quit the job very soon, or worse, stay on and be miserable cos i should stay with "what is available first".

Sounds very noble i know, especially for the rest of my friends who do hold regular jobs which they dun like. everyone chooses how their life should turn out, people say i am very brave to leave everything and go to the UK for 2 years, some say only the rich like me ie. with fat bank acc, can afford it. But the truth is i am not rich, those were my lifelong savings, whether i will spend it all or not is all a gamble. whether i will find a job and survive alone with not many pple around is, is also a gamble. Nothing to be brave about, just how much i wanted it. i did it, and with no regrets, if given the choice, i would still take the same route all over again. Money and a stable job here in Singapore cannot buy me the experience and the friends that i have made, including meeting Andy, my other half.

A very melancholic blog post maybe, but what is a lady of leisure to write about on a wed morning sat home in her PJs...
